Sonnenland-Dralon Classic

"Sonnenland" is the brand name for a high quality 3-layer topping. Originally used by Mercedes Benz, Porsche, BMW and other top brands, it will stay like new for many years. Only tops from our own production, carefully cut, worked and sewn to original patterns using the latest computer technology. Inside colour black or tan with wafer structure.

The first "Sonnenland" tops were made from a cotton/rayon blend in the fifties. Old stock no longer exists or would be unusable. Since about 1970 a 100% Dralon (TM) fibre has been used for the outer fabric. Due to poor fade resistance and increased abrasiveness after short use, we do not use fabric imitations such as British "Mohair" or other Italian imitations.

Since around 1995, the Sonnenland A5 material has been developed in addition to the Sonnenland Classic material. The outer fabric is made from the same technical fibre, but is woven more tightly to increase resistance to abrasion. This is due to the fact that electric tops are opened and closed more frequently than manual tops. As a result of the tighter weave, this A5 material has less flexibility and is therefore not generally recommended for older cars with weaker roof frames.
