Computer-aided pattern construction 

The cuts, mostly developed from brand-new original patterns, are recorded and saved using a CAD system. By defining the cutting pattern on the screen, not only the optimal cut is determined, but also the thread path of the material, all seam lines to be drawn and seam markings for a distortion-free and precise assembly of the individual parts.

The data collected is processed by a special computer program and passed on to the cutting system, a technology that is standard in mechanical engineering worldwide and can therefore be described as very sophisticated and safe. Using the same technology that we use to produce extremely precise top cuts, we also cut all of our headliners, top covers and carpet sets as well as upholstery and trim parts to consistently high quality. However, this technology alone only enables optimal quality, not guarantees it. So that these precisely cut parts can be sewn or welded together with the highest possible precision, the parts are provided with registration marks and markings directly when they are cut, which ensures that the parts are sewn together correctly and can also be checked afterwards. Only then can the quality advantages created during cutting be transferred with certainty to the finished sewn product. The sewing together is carried out by trained, experienced seamstresses on state-of-the-art sewing machines that are specially equipped for the individual tasks involved.

Once a new convertible top model is entered into the computer for the first time, it is first tested and further developed in our own workshop. Until this cut is finally good enough for us, some changes and further test assembly may be necessary. Only then do we assume that a convertible top cut can really be incorporated into series production without any problems.
